
Thriller publishers are now focusing on the new form of media publishing, giving special emphasis on spy and military gaming. This form of thriller publication will target the first person shooter generation. Initial planning is to give service to the providers by mobile, video games and by internet services.
The new media for Thrillers was established by targeting new generation. Thriller books and movies were loosing their popularity to some extent, because of the advent of the 3-D media. That’s why publishers thought to launch thrillers in new media.
This new form of thriller was launched for the first time, in the year 2007, and due to its market success, new products were launched in 2009. New media thrillers contain strong adventurous story line, excitement and martial combat. Thriller New Media Company launched their video gaming products to attract first person shooter generation. Ex Micro Processor co founder J.W. ‘Wild Bill’ Stealey has launched a new development company called ‘Thriller New Media’. They have planned to focus on online games.
Thriller in new media is getting the fondness of even those, who are not interested in reading books and watching long movies. Till now, gaming and video gaming were only confined to the military games, espionages and shooting games. But, the new form of thriller is totally different from the traditional thriller. Supernatural characters like ghosts, vampires and witches of traditional thriller, were loosing their popularity in the new generation. So, new form of thriller focused to attract the PC generation.
Though the company launched their products for business purpose, but the acceptability of new media characters have shown, that new generations are no more interested in traditional thriller. In contrary, popularity of Rowling’s Harry Potter captivated the new generation. The acceptability of Thriller depends on presentation, not only on concept mapping.
